My 40 year career has been equally split between hospitality operations and technology with a common link being my passion for Profit and Process.
Since 1991 I have created two start-ups, one a multi outlet contract caterer and the more recent a hospitality enterprise software business, taking both to successful sale to large listed groups (Granada/Compass and Constellation Software Inc. respectively). Between 1981 to 1991 was spent in corporate life: on the board in the pioneering days of David Lloyd Leisure; working directly for Robert Maxwell for seven years, and in contract catering with Grandmet. Prior to 1981 was general manager for six hotels in southern England.
Across a range of sectors I have extensive experience in operational & change management, M&A, due diligence, contracts and how to make different tech systems work seamlessly together.
Following the sale of IndiCater I am currently leading a portfolio life in non-exec and advisory roles whilst also providing pro bona services to charities and entrepreneurs through the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, and now as Director for the EP Entrepreneur Network.
